After 6 shots and 6 misses with a crossbow, I thought
my
luck this year was destined to be bad. But on Dec,
27,
first day of muzzleloading season I bagged this 16"
wide
7 point which would have been an 8 point but he
had
broken one of his brow tines. Now he's not the
biggest
buck I've ever taken, but with close to a 300 yard
shot, where I aimed a little high and i hit a little low, he
is
definitely a trophy in my book for the farthest shot I've
ever
made with open sights.

It's Nov, 20 here in
Ohio. and out of the deer I have shot
over the years, none have compared to the hunting
experience I
had today with my son Luke. For me this is a hunt of a
lifetime. He
shot the doe with a 50 caliber muzzleloader and I had
the opportunity
to film it. It just doesn't get any better than this. For
you hunters out there
that have kids of your own, nephews or nieces, take the
time to take them
hunting, you just don't know what you are missing.
Always put safety first.
