                      Hunting Tips for Whitetail Deer

1)  Always use some kind of scent control. Human odor is your worst enemy

when it comes to hunting whitetail, and try to always travel into the wind

     and wear rubber boots.

2)  Use lures that go with the calls you use, example, grunting and rattling go

with buck scents, grunts and doe bleats go with buck and doe scents and

when putting your scent lures out, walk off the yardage so you know just

how far away the deer is, when it comes up to the lure.

3)  When using archery equipment, let the game get as close as possible. I

myself have a standard of no more than 30 yards away. Because it

doesn't take much to deflect an arrow, a twig, bryer or grass stem, can

take what looks like an easy shot and turn it into a miss or worse a bad

hit. After 30 yards, it is hard to see those small obstacles.

4)  It's a good idea to use treestands or hunting blinds. Treestands get you

out of the deer's regular viewing area and blinds hid you from their view.

Even the best camouflaged hunter can be seen when he moves.

5)  Always be sure of what you are shooting at, especially at dusk and dawn.

When using treestands, make sure to wear a safety harness. Safety

     should always come first.

If you follow all of these tips, you will see and kill more deer and be a better hunter because

   of them.
